March is Minnesota Food Share Month and an excellent time to make a difference in the lives of children, families and seniors on Saint Paul’s East Side! During these challenging economic times, we are seeing increasing evidence that Merrick’s Poverty Relief programs are needed now more than ever.
In 2012, over 500 families a month and 386,000 pounds of food were served by Merrick Community Services’ Food Shelves and Emergency Services. With your help, we can once again reach out to those most in need. The food and funds raised during MN Food Share Month will allow us to purchase double the amount of food due to special discount programs. In addition, your tax deductible donation in the form of cash, check, and/or on-line contribution also doubles our purchasing power during this time!
