Emergency Services

MCS' Emergency Services Program is dedicated to connecting families and individuals with community resources to help eliminate long-term causes of hunger. MCS also supports and collaborates with organizations fighting to eliminate hunger in our community and the world.

School Supplies
Since 1991, MCS has been providing Eastside students with supplies for the school year. This annual event is sponsored by the MN Shopping Center Association and is held during August. Booths are set up at several different malls and are staffed by volunteers.

Food Shelves
MCS operates two food shelves:

MCS food shelves operate daily, serving Eastside families. Donations are accepted at either site, during business hours. It is best to call first.

Holiday Sharing/Operation Joy
MCS' annual Holiday Sharing/Operation Joy food and toy distribution takes place in December. Several thousand Eastside families receive toys and food baskets to help provide a happy holiday celebration. Registration is necessary and usually begins in early November.

MCS' Emergency Services program relies on the generous gifts of food, service and dollars from community churches, organizations and individuals. New partnerships are welcome.

Holiday Sharing/Operation Joy, Caring Tree and programs provide short-term volunteer opportunities.

Contributions to the food shelves are welcome. Please call before bringing donations.
