Preschool/School Readiness
MCS Preschool program provides hands-on learning for children 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. This program encourages parental involvement and participation in their children's preparation for elementary school. Parent-teacher conferences and monthly newsletters keep parents up to date on classroom activities and their children's progress and development. Classes are held at MCS' 715 Edgerton Street site, which is licensed by the State of Minnesota.
Children build friendships and learn important social skills through play and a variety of learning experiences. Music enrichment is provided by trained professionals. Large motor skills are developed through outdoor play on MCS' preschool playground and in our gymnasium. Monthly field trips help children learn appropriate behavior away from a home and classroom setting. Class size is limited to ensure individual attention for each child.
Tuition
MCS is dedicated to making a positive preschool experience available to
all Eastside children. Tuition may be paid monthly and a sliding fee scale
is available.
Schedule
Preschool classes are held from September to May.
Morning
Session
- Monday through Thursday
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- according to the Saint Paul Public Schools calendar
An afternoon session is available through a contract with Saint Paul Public Schools' School Readiness program and provides the same excellent program offered in the morning session. Some participation guidelines apply to this session.
Afternoon Session
- Monday through Thursday
- 12:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- according to the Saint Paul Public Schools calendar
Transportation
Agency van transportation is available to a limited geographic area.
