The Merrick Community Services East Side Job Bank is dedicated to providing services aimed at obtaining employment (resume writing, employment counseling and resource referral)and building skills for today's job market. Merrick provides certified training programs in both construction, environmental and highway construction trades.
The Family Program at MCS offers a
variety of programs to strengthen and promote healthy families. Staff are
skilled at working with young parents, single dads and moms and two parent
MCS staff use a strength-based
case management approach that includes teaching, coaching, modeling and
advocacy. Through home-based services, the MCS family worker and the family
collaboratively work together to develop a case plan by setting goals that identify
and build on the family’s’ strengths and support the growth of stronger
- Parenting Education and Groups
MCS offers a variety of parenting
education classes, workshops and support groups for individuals dealing with
domestic violence and other issues.. Workshops include topics such as financial literacy, communication, strengthening relationships, identity and leadership.
- Family/Inter-generational Gatherings
One of the keys to healthy
families is to have fun together. MCS offers the opportunity for families in
the community to join other families at Family Fun Nights.
