The Merrick Community Services East Side Job Bank is dedicated to providing services that enable East Side residents to get and keep jobs.

East Side Enterprise and Employment Services 

Merrick's' East Side Enterprise and Employment Services program is dedicated to providing services that enable East Side residents to get and keep jobs. Trained staff help assess client work-related skills and interests and match them to available jobs. Merrick's Employment Specialist helps with the initial contact and follow-up with job seekers until the right match is found.

Assessing Job Skills
Merrick staff assist clients with accessing testing and skills assessments.

Resume Building
Merrick staff provide assistance to help job seekers create and maintain professional resumes.

Job Retention
We at Merrick know that sometimes barriers--including lack of transportation, inadequate child care, or family concerns--make it difficult for someone to keep a job. Merrick staff are dedicated to linking East Side residents to the resources that will assist them overcoming these barriers.
 
Walk-In Resource Room
  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Merrick Community Center (965 Payne Ave. #300)
  • Computer access for job searching
  • Resume building resources and counseling
  • Current job postings and job fair information
  • Access to fax and copy machines for sending out resumes or applications
Merrick Community Services offers a ten-week training program in construction and environmental clean up. Merrick staff will assist graduates in finding and keeping secure jobs.
